Master of Chaos tour cancelled in El Paso

Morbid Angel and World management would like to announce that after having the show moved three times because of venue difficulties, there is unfortunately not enough time to properly promote the moved shows scheduled for El Paso at the House of Rock, we therefore regretfully would like the fans to know that there will be no show in El Paso on April 28th, . We apologize to all ticket holders for all the confusion but it was just not possible this time around to do a well promoted quality show.

March 14, 2006

In further recognition of the European release of yesterday's "Altars of Madness" Jewel disc containing Morbid Angel's first ever 1989, Rock City, Nottingham England live video performance, Morbid Angel would like to announce that Earache Records will also release a limited edition of 1500 Picture discs. This Picture disc contains a new never before on vinyl track listing including " Lord Of All Fevers And Plagues". See photo:

February 24, 2006

Morbid Angel and World Management are excited to announce that on March 13th and a future TBA date for North America Earache Records will release "Altars of Madness" Jewel Disc.

We have taken the following descriptive comments From Will Palmers Press Release:
Few albums struck a chord within the ears and minds of the late '80s underground metal scene like Morbid Angel's 'Altars of Madness' did at the end of the decade. 'Altars of Madness' set a new precedent for metal bands to reach and, along with fellow Floridians Death, pretty much laid down the blue print for what we think of when we now hear
the words "Death Metal", thus setting the standard by which virtually all extreme metal over the course of the next decade would be judged.

Now upgraded to Dual Disc format, this latest release of 'Altars of Madness' not only contains remixes of "Maze of Torment", "Chapel of Ghouls" & "Blasphemy" but also, on the flipside, boasts the first ever official DVD release by the band - the long sought after November 1989 Nottingham Rock City show filmed on the bands first ever European outing; the legendary Grindcrusher Tour (alongside Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower and Carcass).

The energy and power of this performance demonstrates not only why Morbid Angel were catapulted to huge success in the years that followed but also captures the exact moment that Death Metal outgrew the underground and established itself as a credible metal style in the wider marketplace.

Morbid Angel and World Management would like to clear the air with the announcement that after more than 15 years and 9 albums and one EP the band and Earache Records have parted ways on future recordings. We will be exploring all interested labels as well as other options and and will make a decision on a new release for 2005 in the next few months. Currently we are still in the final phases of tour commitments for Heretic. We wish Earache continued success in selling our catalogue and have an obvious professional vested interest in this. We wish to thank all of the Earache employees past and present for their work on Morbid Angel’s releases. We are looking forward with excitement to the future.

August 12, 2004

World Management would like to announce that the shows for Morbid Angel in South America ( Mexico, Chile and Columbia ) have been moved to September 4-11. Bass and Vocals will be handled by David Vincent. The guys looks forward to their shows in South America. Morbid Angel and World Management would also like to thank Steve Tucker for his contribution on several Morbid Angel records as well as multiple great tours. We all wish him well and are sure he will succeed in his new endeavors. Steve has sent some comments for the fans… see his post below:

Steve’s post:

After many problems and much discussion with the people around me, the people I trust. I have decided it is necessary for me to step away from Morbid Angel. It has been a long trip with a lot of great shows and I have made many friends along the way. The Morbid Angel fans that not only excepted me ,but reveled in my being a part of the band, have been the greatest thing about my time in Morbid Angel, they are the reason I came back to the band.

There are many reasons for me leaving the band, personal reasons, musical reasons and very logical reasons. All of which will stay between me and the band . Morbid Angel existed many years before I came along and will for many more I am sure.

I have enjoyed playing with some great musicians and touring with some great bands and meeting some incredible people all over the world. To all these people I say "Thank You" and we will meet again.

I am not done with the music business by any means, I will now be moving into other areas of the business, things I have always enjoyed, but didn't have time for. I will be moving into much more recording ,production and management, so any bands interested in working with me, feel free to contact me at hewhosleeps@hotmail.com .

Again ,Thank you to all of the fans for 8 years of making my hour and a half of stage time so brilliant!!! Tucker

Morbid Angel's brand new video, 'Enshrined By Grace', premieres this Saturday, April 10, on Headbanger's Ball on MTV2.
Directed by UK director Pete Bridgewater (Deicide, December), the 'Enshrined By Grace' clip finds Morbid Angel performing in an infernal ring of fire whilst the unenlightened masses stare at a mind-numbing screen, slaves to the false reality perpetuated by the powers that be.
Guitarist Trey Azagthoth, bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, and drummer Pete Sandoval are shown in rare form, blasting and blazing through the song into extraterrestrial realms.

February 28, 2004 Gaming Newsflash!!!!!!!!!

Anyone remember the old school 3D game DOOM by ID Software?
Surely by now everyone knows what a 3D gaming WHORE Trey is. If he isn’t
Railing up a storm in the Quake 3 InstaGIB servers he’s going to work showing
those DOOM Creepers who their owner is.

“Always Happy To Come To MY HOUSE!!!”

Well, Trey has just completed a chaotic new DOOM map called Chambers of Dis.
This map is set up as a single player survival nightmare environment to put your
gaming skills to the test. This map is huge and filled with tons of evil little doom
creepers who all lust for your suffering and fragmentation. Ready to show them
whose house this is? Just click on the new Chambers of Dis menu link for more
details. The Chambers of Dis map is made for the DOOM enhancement patch
ZDooM which allows higher video resolution, mouse look and other upgrades
which breathe new life into this ancient 3D classic. All that is needed to instantly
play the map is included in the Chambers of Dis Zip file.

“Creating music that takes the listener places is a big passion for me.
Now I wanna share with you meanies another side of my madness. J
During the writing and recording period for out latest release Heretic
I was also working on some other fun stuff such as this Chambers of
Dis map. For some reason I just gotta be using my imagination for
something cool and this map was such a funtastic outlet that I now
wish to share with everyone, just for fun. I’m sure you all know what
a gaming whore I am so come and taste some of this bitter-sweetness
that I have prepared for you. “

Morbid Angel's guitar wizard Trey Azagthoth is included in a list of The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists Of All Time in the March 2004 issue of Guitar World magazine. Ranking at #55 on the star-studded list, Azagthoth is described as: "One of the most crazed characters to emerge from Florida's late-Eighties death metal scene... A frenzied player, he combines furious, angular power chords with ripping leads, but his songs never lack dynamics, since he often chugs through visceral, pick harmonic-tinted rhythms before lashing out with torrents of blinding noise." Among the other luminaries on the list are Tony Iommi, Eddie Van Halen, and Steve Vai. Congratulations to Trey!

Thanks for all the e-mails asking what's going on with the band. There will be news soon on everything, right now it's the typical "quiet time" where not a whole lot is said. What we do know is that Trey is writing the new material, the band is gearing up for recording the new album soon and release should be around September of 2003 on Earache. All of the details related to that will be let out gradually over the course of the next 6 months or so.

Side note: We finally broke a million hits to the web site. Thanks to everyone for your support. We'll be rolling out new web content sometime before the new CD gets released.

Morbid Angel "VH1 Fashion Awards 2002 Promo"

In case you see it... Yes! it is David's voice and Morbid Angel on the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards 2002 commercial. The clip includes music and vocals from the song "Rapture", and will be broadcast internationally from now until October 15th. It is eerily similar to the original "Rapture" video directed by Tony Kunenwalder.

Erik Rutan Moves On

Erik Rutan has announced he is leaving Morbid Angel in order to devote himself entirely to Hate Eternal. Erik began playing guitar with Morbid Angel in 1993 and has played on three of the band's albums, as well as numerous national and international tours. In 1996, Erik began forming Hate Eternal, a blistering Death Metal band that takes technicality and brutality to new levels. In Hate Eternal, Erik fully expresses his own musical and lyrical ideas, handling vocals and guitar, and the majority of the songwriting. Hate Eternal's debut album, "Conquering The Throne", was the high-water mark for Death Metal in 1999 -- a furious yet precise assault on the senses. Hate Eternal's second album, "King Of All Kings" is now finished and is set for release on September 16th in Europe and September 17th in the US.

Erik had this to say about his decision to focus all his energies on Hate Eternal:

"Being in Morbid Angel for the past nine years has been the greatest time of my life. To play in my favorite Death Metal band of all time has been a tremendous honor. I want to thank Trey and Pete for all the great years and all they have done for me, and all the fans who have supported me and will hopefully continue to support me in the future. It is now time for me to stand on my own two feet with Hate Eternal."

See Hate Eternal on tour November 5 - November 28 with Cannibal Corpse!

    MORBID ANGEL - PANTERA Duets!

MORBID ANGEL are gearing up to annihilate Europe with news of a forthcoming tour. The band are currently on a stadium tour of the U.S. with PANTERA, SOULFLY and NOTHINGFACE. They are the first death metal band to play stadium size venues in America. Phil Anselmo joined Morbid onstage during their performances in L.A. and Las Vegas recently. Anselmo reportedly sang lead vocals on 'Day Of Suffering' at both shows. On the European tour they'll be joined by Norway's ZYKLON. The dates begin on April 16th in Belgium and wrap up on May 11th in the Netherlands.

    Radio interview with Tucker

In case you didn't catch the 'net radio interview that aired on Energy FM90 radio on Friday night, we happen to have it available for you to download in MP3 format. There's a couple of audible glitches in it (hey, you can only get so good of a connection on a 33.6 modem, right?) but it's quite listenable. The interview was originally aired with music in between, so we've edited it down to just the interview. It clocks in at just over 15 minutes.

    DOWNLOAD - 2.5 MB .ZIP

Thanks to Chris Tingley (who conducted the interview, btw) and Jason Juniewicz from WERG Energy FM90's "The Metal Show" (airs Friday nights from 8 pm - 2am EST in case you want to check them out sometime) for giving permission for us to post this interview. Their website can be found at www.erie.net/~werg/

    Gateways To Annihilation Press Release

Thanks to Jon Paris for passing this important new press release along:

    ANNIHILATION IS NEARLY UPON US
**Extreme Metal Pioneers Unleash New Album Info and Tour Plans**

Global death metal leaders MORBID ANGEL have unveiled "GATEWAYS TO ANNIHILATION" as the title for their forthcoming new album and have solidified details for their upcoming appearance at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany on August 5th.

Produced by both the band and Jim Morris at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, FL, "GATEWAYS TO ANNIHILATION" is destined to exponentially further the death metal genre as only Morbid Angel can. "Jim did a fantastic job," stated vocalist and bassist Steve Tucker. "He helped to make this record everything we wanted and beyond." Song titles include "He Who Sleeps", "Ageless", "Still I Am", and "To The Victor The Spoils". Album artwork is being handled by Dan Seagrave, who also painted the cover of the band's classic "Altars Of Madness" album.

"We're very proud of this record," continued Tucker. "The album takes a very paganistic point of view and signifies the opening of a new door: the entering of a new state of mind and being. This is what Morbid Angel is about in the year 2000."

Additionally, Morbid Angel is scheduled to appear at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany on August 5th where they will debut several new songs. "GATEWAYS TO ANNIHILATION" is scheduled for a worldwide release in early fall.

For more information, please contact Jon Paris at (212) 505-0405 or JparisPR@aol.com. Further details will be available soon.
